My hair is starting to thin, so it would be great to be at a salon with expertise with thinning hair. Also would be great to buy interesting imported shaving creams. Would love to see publications there like the Wall Street Journal, Sports Illustrated. The place that I go now, I hate the smell of perm and seeing ladies with all that goo and tin foil.
- John Kinkaid - Creative Director - Salt Lake City, UT

Love the concept of the executive package where guest can prepay a year in advance and come in when ever they like. Also offer shoeshine. Love the idea of salon sending flowers or gift certificate to the wife on 8th visit. There's a real need for this concept in upscale areas.
- Chris Lopes - Marketing Executive - Technology Company - Irvine, CA

Sounds like a great alternative to salons and SuperCuts. I would prefer not to go to a woman's salon that is highly feminine. Hate the smell of perms.
- Harvey Plotnick - Small Business Owner - Los Angeles, CA

Great concept. Blow away the image of the beauty shop. Promote "for the busy executive", "can sign the check at the chair". Not a gossip or chitchat place. Make it clear that not a "SuperCuts".
- Jim Walsh - Computer Engineer- Carlsbad CA

You nailed it! We need a concept like this!
- Kevin Griffith - Sales Executive - Web Development Company - San Diego

My dad was a barber. It had a great atmosphere. Resurrecting a barbershop in a contemporary way would be great.
- Scott Hunter - Loan Broker - San Diego

Great idea! You have a home run with this one.
- Marc Davis - Marketing Manager - Major Telcom Company - Los Angeles, CA

Awesome, great concept for busy executives. Time is valuable. Would like a great massage.
- David Signor - Sales Executive - Large Printing Company - Los Angeles

I think there is a need for a more masculine salon. Men are interested in how they look and willing to spend more money. They are uncomfortable going into a woman's salon. There's nothing worse than a bad haircut. Women can help drive concept if they see it written up as a trend in magazines like Town and Country, Vogue, W. Also, privacy for men is important. There's always a desire to have some exclusivity and privacy - some part of your life you don't have to share.
- Kathleen Flanigan - Marketing Executive (married to an investment banker) - Los Angeles, CA

Love this concept. My husband would go in a second. He has been paying $80 at a woman's salons, but recently started going to a barbershop. He loves the camaraderie of the guy's place. He's had manicures and facials. Loves that stuff, but doesn't want to go to a girlie place. I really feel there is a need for a men's salon concept. It would be good to segregate sexes. There is a strong trend - celebration of the genders. Looks really weird when guys are sitting next to me getting their hair done. They also don't want to look like they are spending money on themselves. Concept sounds cool.
- Anne Benge - Regional Sales Director for large office systems manufacturer. Carlsbad - CA

Stay away from fad, retro. Make it an honest barbershop. All about the guy - the man's experience. Steve would not go to a SuperCuts. At current salon, stylist spends about an hour on cut. Gives massage. Guys would really respond to a five-minute massage. If I read a great article in magazine would recommend. Love the flowers idea. Thumbs up. Make it a place where guys look forward to hanging out. The re-invention of the barbershop. A great cup of coffee - all the better.
- Katherine Takahashi - Graphic Designer - husband, small business owner - Los Angeles, CA

The only concepts out there for men today are the aging barbershops, the SuperCuts, or the women's places. This sounds like a Vidal Sassoon for men. Guys need a place of their own. They don't want to hear about periods, menopause and children.
- Lois Hess - attorney - husband - consultant to biotech industry, San Clemente, CA

Have a separate room for coloring and other services like manicures. Total privacy. Anything that is pampering is a feminine thing. Guys don't want other guys to see. You have to get Nioxin - it works. Mature guys don't like places that are too trendy. Definitely market to women, as well. They have influence - that is the way to do it.
- Meg Pearson - works with husband in gourmet food business
